VIJAY DIWAS (16 DECEMBER)
Bijoy Dibos is commemorated every 16th December in Bangladesh & India, to observe Bangladeshi military's victory over Pakistan in War of 1971 for the liberation of Bangladesh from Pakistan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute at the National War Memorial in New Delhi on the 50th anniversary of the 1971 that made Bangladesh an independent country. The day is celebrated as ‘Vijay Diwas’.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh and home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday extended their wishes to countrymen on the occasion of the Vijay Diwas. The ministers saluted the bravery and courage of the Indian Army.
